Antimicrobial Nanocoatings: Aligning Innovation, Regulatory Compliance and Market Uptake

We highlight the urgent need to translate advanced materials from promising laboratory results into responsible, large-scale deployment. While breakthroughs in smart, functional nanocoatings are accelerating, regulatory complexity, compliance costs, and gaps in standardisation remain key barriers to adoption.

This workshop brings together leading EU-funded projects to consolidate scientific progress, address regulatory and safety challenges, and outline a coordinated pathway toward sustainable, market-ready antimicrobial solutions in Europe.

Organised by RELIANCE, SUPREME, NOVA, NANOBLOC and MIRIA, the workshop takes place as part of the Surfaces, Interfaces and Coatings Technologies International Conference (SICT 2026) in Prague, Czech Republic (6–8 May 2026).
